Art Explorations
Community Programs
Art Explorations is rooted in the belief that art is most meaningful when it is created together. Each project invites participation from community members, offering hands-on experiences that build connection, creativity, and pride.
Community
Mosaic Builds
Large-scale public art projects designed and created with community participation. These events bring together residents of all ages to contribute to a permanent installation, fostering a shared sense of ownership and identity.
Examples
Rockford Women’s Suffrage Plaza – Over 200 participants worked together over two years to complete the installation.
Youth Mosaic Camps
Intensive camps where students (ages 10–15) collaborate to create significant mosaic sculptures or installations. Participants learn mosaic techniques, design, problem solving, teamwork, and collaboration. Each camp results in a completed work of public art and a meaningful creative experience.
