Burton is a public artist, educator and community builder specializing in developing large scale sculptures and mosaic projects.  All ages of community participants are trained to do mosaic on public art projects. Through the creation of site-specific works of art positive community engagement is fostered.  Burton feels that her public art projects impact economic development, offers art education and provides participants with collaboration opportunities, creative exploration, team building and collective purpose.  Her work can be found in public spaces, parks, schools and commercial and residential settings.
